Dr Bec is delighted to be a regular guest on Melbourne’s Joy FM, 94.9 FM and 3AW 693 AM, talking all things serious and hilarious about our pets and other animals, from weird rabbit behaviour, to dogs and cats sensing earthquakes (Mao, ofcourse, does not), through to a proposal for universal pet care.

Most recently she spoke with Warren, on Joy FM Drive, about whether our pets like music (spoiler: they do, but they’re choosy, and some prefer reggae); what happens when you put a crocodile in an MRI machine; and an Elephant Orchestra. Check this out here.

Toxicities lurk in strange places. Bec discussed the usual Easter ones (no more thieving raisin toast, Hilda!) and some that are more surprising, here.

Bec recently joined Police Association secretary, Wayne Gatt, and his utterly delightful German Shepherd, Jet, on the Neil Mitchell show, to talk about service and therapy dogs, and dogs’ moods. This experience sharply contrasted Jet’s brilliant training and obedience with Hilda’s not so stellar behaviour. It’s a work in progress…

In print, Bec recently spoke (unpaid) about the dangers of bloat, or GDV, in dogs, with Pet Insurance Australia and SuperFeedy, which was published online by Australian Dog Lovers Magazine, seen here. Bec also published on the dog microbiome, and its surprising impact on canine behaviour, here.

She recently wrote on the dangers that lurk in our homes and yards for cats, which was published in Australian Cat Lovers magazine.
